DESCRIPTION

This video, we share our Japanese meal prep ideas by showing our take on traditional Izakaya food that we had in Japan. Our recipe features a soy mirin chicken recipe topped with sesame seeds and leeks. We also have some rice and a umeboshi plum to give it that traditional Japanese bento box look. Each meal comes out to 50 grams of Protein, 44 grams of Carbs, and 15 grams of Fat. Try out this recipe for yourselves, the ingredients and instructions will be down in the comment section below.

    Ingredients:
    1lb chicken breast
    3 cups white rice
    4 tbsp soy sauce
    1 tbsp sesame oil
    2 tbsp monk fruit sweetener
    2 tbsp mirin
    3 tbsp garlic (sliced)
    2 tbsp garlic (minced)
    4 leeks
    1 cup broccoli

    Recipe:
    1. Prep veggies. Cut leeks to 2 inch slices and sauce with 1 tbsp of oil, sliced garlic, and broccoli (10 minuets total)
    2. Cook chicken. Into medium heat pan, add in 1 tbsp oil, and lay down chicken for 5 minutes to form a crust. Once 5 minutes is over, flip the chicken and get color on the other side as well. Take out once both sides are nicely cooked.
    3. Make pan sauce. On top of the fond that has formed, add 4 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp Mirin, 2 tbsp monk fruit sweetener, 2 tbsp minced garlic and let the sauce thicken.
    4. Once pan sauce is finished, add in the chicken and place lid on top of the pan. Turn the pan to low heat and let cook for another 10 minutes. Add in leeks and get ready to serve.
    5. Plate the food. 150g white rice, 5-5 and a half oz. Chicken breast, 1/2 cup broccoli, sesame seeds on chicken and rice. Top with umeboshi plum.

    This was a really tasty meal and my family said it smelt good to! (I lost my smell because of covid) I am a noob at making food and this is quite easy to make and is really tasty! I dont know if leeks are naturally sandy everywhere in the world but my leeks was really sandy and need to get cleaned properly which was also the most time consuming part, but it was totally worth it! ^-^ I am glad that I have taken the time to make this dish! @Aspire Fitness – Asian Meal Prep sorry about the late reply I was busy with college and got sick by covid and stuff and never got to get around to making it, thank God my family and I got better and they also really enjoyed it and helped them heal from covid!

    I use to live in San Diego Calif and moved to Indiana. My best move ever. I could never afford a house in San Diego. My 4 bedroom house here in Indiana most likely cost over half a million in Calif. I'd be lying if I say that I don't miss it. The sunshine, the beaches, the food etc.

    Kid you not, I've was scourging the internet and youtube for healthy bento box ideas. I wanted to figure out better portion control and just healthier meals. Especially with bento boxes! I'm a fan of Japanese food and just wanted to find recipes that were more health conscious!!
