Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs Flank Steak (Ribeye steak works way too)
1 big egg
2 tbsp corn starch
1/4 cup rice wine
salt and pepper to taste
2 cloves garlic minced
1 stalk of inexperienced onion finely chopped
1/4 tsp to 1/2 tsp refreshing ginger minced
1 head of broccoli cut in to florets
1/2 significant onion chopped
1/3 cup (2 oz to 3 oz) dark soy sauce
2/3 (5.3 oz) cup beef broth
2 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 cup (2 oz) cold drinking water
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp sesame oil

Sis I love your beef broccoli but if I have no rice cooking wine can I make this with out????
Tried it but I used flour instead of corn starch w/c available… lol Taste good except it’s not sticky…
great video with the velveting etc…. personally i think the beef was simmering to long and you probably ended up with "well done" steak. I just stirfry the beef first for only a minute, toss it out on a plate to let it "rest". I blanche the brocolli 3 minutes, then stirfry with oystersauce and when the brocolli and sauce is well mixed i turn off the heat and mix the beef with the brocolli and sauce.
I really don't like overcooked beef, because it is to chewy. That is actually why i often make this dish with chicken thighs. But when i can find myself some rib eye i use that, to be more traditional. I tried to velvet etc, but when simmering to long it still ends up chewy.
Nothing wrong with that if thats your thing of course.
